The tour

The panorama trail is groomed as an alternative to the training trails on the Ramsau and Hallstatt glaciers and is approx. 5 km long. The trail connects the glacier experience on the two partial glaciers of the Dachstein via two wide loops.

Turn-by-turn directions

At the end of the steps from the mountain station of the Gletscherbahn on the Hunerkogel you get on your cross-country skis and first ski down to your right onto the Schladming Glacier, where a wide loop takes you over the glacier under the impressive panorama of the Koppenkarstein. Sporty, it then goes back uphill to the Gjaidsteinsattel and now to the Hallstatt Glacier, where a spacious loop between Gjaidstein and Eisstein takes you back to the Gjaidsteinsattel and your starting point in a beautiful round.

Getting there

From the West: Take the A10 to Knoten Ennstal - take the exit towards Graz/Schladming. Drive along the Ennstal-Bundesstraße for approx. 20 km until you reach Schladming. Take the turn-off for Ramsau.

From the North: Take the Pyhrnautobahn direction Liezen. Then follow the Ennstalbundesstraße to Schladming. Take the turn-off for Ramsau.

Then continue through the village of Ramsau and follow the Dachstein toll road to the valley terminal of the Dachstein glacier cable-car.

With the buses of the Ramsauer Verkehrsbetriebe (RVB) from Schladming (also the train station) to the valley station of the Gletscherbahn.
