The tour around Aigen mainly follows quiet asphalt roads and partly forest tracks through the diverse landscape at the foot of the Grimming. Passing meadows, forests and the Putterersee, the route repeatedly offers stunning views of the highest free-standing mountain in Europe.

A special highlight is the viewpoint at the Stalingradkapelle above Oppenberg with impressive panoramic views over the Ennstal valley.

In the Hohenberg area, there is also the opportunity to ride the easy Eichschacherl Trail – ideal for beginners and families.

The tour starts at the bus station or the tourist information office in Irdning. Via Falkenburg and the Jagerlenzweg, the route passes Schloss Pichlarn towards Aigen and continues via Lantschern to the Puttererseehof and Ritzmannsdorf.

There, turn right towards Oppenberg and then left uphill to the Stalingradkapelle. The viewpoint offers magnificent views over the Ennstal valley and the Grimming. Afterwards, return along the same route back to the Brückenwirt and continue towards Hohenberg.

In the Hohenberg area, there is the option to use the easy Eichschacherl Trail, which is particularly suitable for beginners and children. The route then continues along the Ennsweg and through the Irdninger Moos back to Irdning. Via the Schwarzen Weg, you finally return to the starting point at the bus station.

Turn off the B320 at Trautenfels or Wörschach and follow the signs towards the Irdning town center.

With the bus 940/941 to the busstop ,,Busbahnhof Irdning''. There is also the start point.

The next trainstation is far away 5 kilometres.

Always wear a helmet and appropriate clothing.
Ride only on paved and signposted paths.
Watch out for traffic at crossroads and road junctions!
Be considerate and give way.
Avoid blocking the rear wheel and thus help to maintain the paths.
Control your speed downhill!
Protect the environment and don't leave rubbish, etc. in the mountains!

The right bike: mountain bike or gravel bike with studded tyres, racing bikes are not recommended.

Breakdowns can happen - but rarely at the doorstep of one of the numerous service points: a basic kit of tools and accessories therefore never hurts! Spare inner tube and/or repair kit, universal spanner, air pump, brake and shift cable, as well as a screwdriver can never hurt.

It is worth taking a break at the Stalingradkapelle and enjoying the impressive panoramic views.
Plan your breaks: Numerous huts and traditional inns along the route invite you to stop for a relaxing break and enjoy regional specialities.
E-mountain bike: With electric assistance, the tour is also well manageable for less experienced bikers.
