THE NIGHTRACE Schladming is one of the most spectacular events in the FIS World Cup calendar for alpine ski racers and is a unique experience for winter sports fans worldwide. Year after year, this floodlit spectacle on the Planai attracts thousands of fans who come to watch the world's best slalom racers battle it out for hundredths of a second.
On 27 and 28 January 2026, Schladming will once again become the stronghold of skiing - with two exciting races, an impressive atmosphere and an unforgettable atmosphere - a must for all winter sports fans.

ArrivingSpectators arriving by car will be directed to the parking lots by law enforcement officers starting at the entrances to Pichl an der Enns and Haus im Ennstal. All parking lots are located within a reasonable distance of the stadium.
All taxis gather at Spar market. Guests arriving by taxi will be dropped off there before the races. After the event, taxis will also be available at the Spar market for the return journey. We kindly ask all guests to go to Spar market for their journey home to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Information for guests with special needs:
Instead of general guidelines, the organizing committee strives to offer individual solutions in each case; this also explains why no special sector is designated in the Nightrace stadium plan.
If necessary, please direct your questions to the responsible team: office@ski-weltcup-schladming.at (limited number of seats available).
For safety reasons, small children are not permitted in the stands or on the grandstand, either on the shoulders of adults or in strollers.
It is prohibited to enter the event grounds with animals, backpacks, food or beverages of any kind, in particular alcoholic beverages, fireworks, Bengal fires, or umbrellas.
Questions & Answers about skiing around the races
THE NIGHTRACE
The Planai finish slope will be closed from Monday, January 19, until Friday, January 30.
On the event days Tuesday, January 27, and Wednesday, January 28, BOTH downhill runs (slope 1 from Planai 3 valley including finish slope, slope 2 from Fastenbergbahn valley station) will be CLOSED!
Tuesday, January 27, and Wednesday, January 28: NO downhill runs to the Planai main cable car possible!
Tip: From January 25, we recommend using the Planai West for ascents and descents.
The Zielhang slope will be closed to the public from January 19 through January 30!
Regular cable car service until 3:00 p.m.
On both race days, from 3:00 p.m. onwards, the Planai main cable car to the middle station will only be accessible with accreditation. The Planai main cable car will operate without restrictions from the middle station to the top station.
The Planai main cable car will operate downhill with a valid ski pass until 4:30 p.m.
Piste No. 2 is open up to the Fastenberg 6er valley station. The women's World Cup course at the bottom (Piste 2) is closed. The Fastenberg 6er and Lärchkogelbahn lifts are in operation until 4:30 p.m. on race days. From January 21, access to the cable car from Piste No. 2 will be via the underground car park on level 1.
We recommend using the Planai West cable car to ascend and descend the Planai! The Planai West will be in operation until 5:00 p.m. on both race days.
Access to the ski storage facility at the Planai valley station is possible until 3:00 p.m. on both race days (January 27 and 28). Access via the Planet Planai bus stop. Access will no longer be possible after that time.
Both the parking garage and the service deck (underground parking garage) at Planai Stadium will be CLOSED on both race days! On both race days, we recommend accessing Planai via Planai West, where there is ample parking available.
The ski bus stop will be relocated to Rathausplatz between Thursday, January 22, and Friday, January 30.
No evening operation on the Hochwurzen on Tuesday, January 27, and Wednesday, January 28, 2026!
Take the special train to NIGHTRACE
28. Jänner 2026 | Wien - Schladming
On January 28, 2026, the special train will take you comfortably to the legendary FIS World Cup men's race “THE NIGHTRACE” in Schladming. Travel to and from the event will be on the special train, and the admission ticket for the night slalom is already included.
