The Zottl-Schleife is a connection for accommodations in the Vorberg area. The section itself has a length of about 1.9 km. You can combine it with the Märchenwiesen trail and a short section of the Vorbergloipe to create a short and easy cross-country skiing loop. For a nice short circuit, it is best to start at Gasthof Stockerwirt (node N), ski west along the Vorbergloipe to node Schneeberger (P) and then switch to the Zottl-Schleife. At node Märchenwiese (O), you will join the Märchenwiesen-Loipe, which you follow back to Stockerwirt. A beautiful loop with a length of 4.5 km.

Together with the Märchenwiese cross-country ski trail, the Zottl loop is arguably one of the most beautiful short cross-country ski circuits in Ramsau am Dachstein. Overall, this results in a fairly easy trail, well-suited for beginners and sure to delight those who appreciate the scenery.

The Zottl-Schleife runs from the Schneeberger (P) junction via the Fürsterhof and Vorberghof to the Märchenwiese (O) junction. Together with the Märchenwiesen-Loipe and a short section of the Vorbergloipe, it forms a short loop on the Vorberg.

Exit from the Ennstal Bundesstraße at Schladming-Mitte. Continue towards Ramsau am Dachstein. Once you reach the Ramsau plateau, turn left after approx. 300 m and follow the Vorbergstraße until you reach the entry point at Gasthof Stockerwirt. Via a short section of the Vorbergloipe, you will reach the Schneeberger (P) junction, where the Zottl-Schleife starts towards Märchenwiese.

Parking spaces are available at Gasthof Stockerwirt.

Take the Ramsauer Verkehrsbetriebe buses (Line 960) from Schladming (also from the train station) to Ramsau. Change there to Line 964 towards Vorberg.

The Vorberg trail is the perfect route to start into the day, as it gets sun quite early.
