The Märchenwiesen-Loipe is a cross-country ski loop just over 3 km long, starting at the Stockwirt (N) junction in the Vorberg district of Ramsau am Dachstein. Despite its short length, this loop offers everything a cross-country skier's heart desires - no wonder cross-country ace Mika Vermeulen calls this trail his favorite loop. The loop is groomed for both classic and skating styles and offers short, crisp climbs, fast descents, and flat sections for smooth gliding. The trail thus invites you to complete several laps, but can also be easily combined with the Vorbergloipe, as part of the Kulm-loop, or with the Zottl-Schleife. On the way out towards Märchenwiese, you sometimes get the feeling of literally skiing right into the Schladminger Tauern.

The trail starts at Gasthof Stockerwirt (N) and initially runs in a loop towards the west near Zechmannhof before leading slightly uphill to the south towards "Märchenwiese". Having reached the far end of the plateau, the trail turns back to the north and leads you back towards Stockerwirt via a hollow and a climb.

Exit from the Ennstal Bundesstraße at Schladming-Mitte. Continue to Ramsau am Dachstein. Once you reach the Ramsau plateau, turn left after approx. 300 m and follow the Vorbergstraße until you reach the Gasthof Stockerwirt.

Parking spaces are available at Gasthof Stockerwirt.

Take the Ramsauer Verkehrsbetriebe buses (Line 960) from Schladming (also from the train station) to Ramsau. Change there to Line 964 towards Vorberg.
