The name says it all on the classic Sonnenloipe. Thanks to its south-facing location and its course above the main road in Schildlehen, this trail impresses with a sunny cross-country skiing experience and simultaneously offers a great view across the Ramsau plateau into the Schladminger Tauern. The cross-country ski trail is quite easy with gentle inclines and is therefore also well suited for beginners. The Sonnenloipe West connects to the Standardloipe West at the beginning and has a connection at the Grahstadl junction to the Lärchenwaldloipe and back to the Standardloipe West or the Stadionloipe.

The Sonnenloipe West is the section between the Walcherhof junction and the Grahstadl junction. Recommended entry points are the Standardloipe West at the Rittisberg junction or the Stadionloipe starting at the cross-country skiing stadium. Together with these two trails and the Lärchenwaldloipe, the Sonnenloipe forms a beautiful loop between Ramsau Ort and Schildlehen.

Exit from the Ennstal main road at Schladming-Mitte. Continue to Ramsau-Ort to the cross-country skiing stadium (when combining with the Stadionloipe and Standardloipe West) or otherwise to Rittisberg (combination with the Standardloipe West).

When combined with the Stadionloipe directly at "Ramsau Zentrum" next to the cross-country skiing stadium. Otherwise at the Rittisberg parking lot.

Take the Ramsauer Verkehrsbetriebe buses on line 960 from Schladming (also from the train station) to Ramsau, Schweigerhof or Dachsteinstraße stop. From there, it is about a 5-minute walk to the entrance at the Walcherhof junction.
For combination with the Stadionloipe and Standardloipe West, use the Ramsau Ort stop, or the Rittisberg stop for combination with the Standardloipe West.
