The Leitenloipe runs for a good 6 km with classic grooming through the districts of Obere and Untere Leiten. The trail connects at the Alpenbad (F) junction in Ramsau Kulm to the Kulmdörfl-Loipe and via this to the Stadion-Loipe. It also connects there to the Kulm-Loipe, which it also joins at the Deutlhauser (J) junction. The trail offers a wonderful panoramic view into the Ennstal, especially from Obere Leiten, and you also have a clear view of the ski mountains of the Schladminger Tauern in Untere Leiten.

A good starting point for the trail is at the Alpenbad (F) junction, which is best reached via the Kulmdörfl-Loipe starting from Hotel Annelies.
The trail is best combined with the Kulmloipe between the Deutlhauser (J) and Alpenbad (F) junctions. This results in a beautiful loop with a length of about 8.5 km.
The loop can be easily extended with the Burglehner-Schleife, bringing the total length to approximately 10 km.

The cross-country ski trail is generally unsuitable for beginners, as the descents and ascents are rather steep and technically challenging. Therefore, safe and effective braking technique is essential. The section most suitable for less experienced cross-country skiers is the connection between the Alpenbad junction (F) and the Sattelberghütte.

The Leitenloipe is connected to the Kulmdörfl-Loipe and the Kulmloipe at the Alpenbad junction (F) in Ramsau Kulm. From there, it runs through the Obere Leiten. Passing the hotels Neuwirt and Martin, the trail leads downhill towards Kielerhof or via a variant to the Sattelberghütte to the Sattelberg junction (I). It continues downhill to Mösing to the Timmelbauerhof and from there to the Leiten intersection. There, the ascent begins back through the Untere Leiten. You run uphill past the Kalkschmiedhof to the Deutlhauser junction (J). A loop is also groomed between Kalkschmied and Deutlhauser. Via the Deutlhauser-Alpenbad section of the Kulmloipe, you return to the Alpenbad junction.

Exit from the Ennstal Bundesstraße at Schladming-Mitte. Continue to Ramsau-Kulm, at Sportmoden Schrempf. The trailhead at Hotel Annelies is about 150 m away.

Approximately 150 m south of the cross-country skiing trailhead, there is a parking option below the main road at Sportmoden Schrempf.
Another parking option is available in Kulm at the Infobüro Ramsau.

Take the Ramsauer Verkehrsbetriebe buses from Schladming (also from the train station) to Ramsau, Ennstalerhof stop.
