Important Information

The cross-country skiing stadium, the ski jumping stadium including the tunnel, and the stadium/standard cross-country ski trail West up to the Helpferer underpass are groomed. A total of approximately 5 km is open. A valid cross-country skiing ticket is required.

Night skiing is available daily at the cross-country skiing stadium until 7:00 pm, and on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, the ski jumping stadium is also open.

Tour description

Around the WM-Langlaufstadion in Ramsau am Dachstein, the Stadionloipe forms the centerpiece of the cross-country skiing network of Ramsau am Dachstein. Between the BILLA junction east of the stadium and the Kreitseiler junction west of the stadium, this approximately 6 km long trail section can be prepared early in winter using snow-farming depots and, if necessary, artificial snowmaking. The Stadionloipe thus guarantees cross-country skiing opportunities for several months, even when natural snow levels are low.

The Stadionloipe is a wide, groomed trail with dedicated directional tracks for both skating and classic styles in each direction. Within the stadium itself, there is a broad skating loop as well as several practice tracks for classic cross-country skiing. After initial practice sessions in the stadium, this wide trail serves as an excellent "first outing" for cross-country skiing beginners.

From the cross-country skiing stadium, you can choose to ski either east or west first. If you first head east you pass the ski jump and the trail leads downhill with a slight gradient to the road crossing and the turning point at the BILLA supermarket (connection to Kulmdörfl-Loipe and Standardloipe Ost). From the BILLA turning point, the trail leads slightly uphill back towards the stadium. Passing the ski jump and the Waldschenke, you ski through the tunnel onto the western part of this trail. This leads you up a climb to the western turning point of the trail at Haus Katharina, directly at the Kreitseiler junction (connection to Standardloipe West and Herold-Loipe). Right next to Haus Katharina, the final stretch takes you up a short, crisp climb and then down a sporty descent back into the stadium. Less experienced skiers are advised to take the same route back to the stadium on the right-hand track facing the stadium.

From the west:

Take the A10 to Knoten Ennstal - take the exit towards Graz/Schladming. Drive along the Ennstal-Bundesstraße for approx. 20 km until you reach Schladming. Take the turn-off for Ramsau. Continue to the village of Ramsau where the XC-stadium is located.

From the East/North:

Take the Pyhrnautobahn direction Liezen. Then follow the Ennstalbundesstraße to Schladming. Take the turn-off for Ramsau. Continue to the village of Ramsau where the XC-stadium is located.
