Bike & Hike Dachsteinblick - Brandangerkogel
Tour description
From Irdning the tour starts with a flat section to Schlattham and continues around the Kulm. Afterwards, the route leads over varied terrain to Wörschach.
From here, follow the signs of the Spechtensee Loop (315) steadily uphill to Wörschachwald to Gasthof Dachsteinblick with a Bike & Hike station.
The return route leads via Klachau and along quiet roads and cycle paths via Trautenfels back to Irdning.
Important note:
Cycling is only permitted during the following times:
- 15 May – 31 August: 08:00 – 18:00
- 01 – 30 September: 08:00 – 17:00
The tour

Start in the center of Irdning. First turn right onto Aigner Straße and ride through the village. At the end of the village, switch to the cycle path and follow it slightly downhill to Schlattham.
There, turn left towards Sallaberg/Kulm and ride around the Kulm with a gentle climb and short descents. Then follow the narrow asphalt road to the Enns and turn right onto a flat gravel path.
Follow the path along the Enns to the junction with the main road towards Wörschach. Turn left and continue on the cycle path via Maitschern to Wörschach.
From Wörschach, follow the signs of the Spechtensee Loop (315). This leads via the Aicherlsteinweg, first on asphalt and later on a gravel forest road, steadily uphill to Wörschachwald – passing the Spechtensee.
In Wörschachwald, turn left at the chapel and follow the signs to Gasthof Dachsteinblick, where the Bike & Hike station is located.
For the return, continue following the Spechtensee Loop (315): via Klachau, Girtstatt and Untergrimming towards Trautenfels and then back on the cycle path to Irdning to the starting point.
A free parking area is located directly opposite the starting point at the tourism office.

The next trainstation is far away 5 kilometres.
Weather conditions in the mountains can change quickly. Thunderstorms, wind, fog and sudden temperature drops are serious hazards. Plan your tour realistically and don’t overestimate your abilities.
In case of thunderstorms: Avoid summits, ridgelines and isolated trees.

Recommended equipment:
Helmet, suitable bike and hiking clothing, sturdy shoes, sufficient water.
Always lock your bike.
There are E-bike charging stations along the route (see map/elevation profile) – bring your charger.
For via ferrata routes: Via ferrata set, helmet, appropriate footwear.
- Gindlhörndl: About 15 minutes from the inn
- Refreshments: Stop at Gasthof Dachsteinblick or at the Spechtenseehütte
- Additional stops: Burgruine Wolkenstein ruins or Wörschachklamm
