The holiday resort Ramsau am Dachstein in Schladming-Dachstein is an 18 km long, 4 km wide plateau at an altitude of 1,000 to 1,300m. The resort is like a balcony about 400m above the Ennstal.

220 kilometers of cross-country skiing tracks, created in 13 different loops in various levels of difficulty, length (up to 30 km) and altitude. The cross-country tracks are very popular amongst top athletes, being the international training center for cross-country skiers, biathletes as well as Nordic combined athletes.
In addition, the Dachstein Massif offers countless via ferrata routes. Currently there are 19 climbing routes, including 3 children's fixed rope routes.
The high altitude Dachstein glacier which is opened yearlong (2,700 m) has four lifts up to 18 kilometers of cross country skiing tracks. Especially in the autumn it is a training center for Nordic sports teams: glacier hiking, ski slopes, the Dachstein Sky Walk, Ice Palace and the suspension bridge with the stairways to nothingness. The glacier is the starting point of alpine hiking and climbing tours.
The Dachstein is with 2,996 meters the highest mountain in Styria and the most eastern glacier in the Alps.
