The tour
On this rather easy hiking trail you can take a "forest bath" in summer as well as in winter and really take a deep breath and recharge your batteries. There is also history to explore along the way, because there is a detour to the "Pürglitzschanze", a fortified building from the time around 1800. An information board on site tells you about the exciting past of this place.
Turn-by-turn directions
From the tourist office the path leads you in the direction of the Capuchin monastery. At the crossroads at the monastery wall turn left towards Villa Falkenhof and continue straight ahead. Even before the large yellow building, the path leads left across a meadow up to the forest. At the fork in the road, turn right and continue straight ahead along the old forest road until you reach the large linden tree. From there on, the path runs across a meadow. The bench at the edge of the forest invites you to take a break with a view of Winklern.Continue along the field path until you reach the road. There you turn left and go straight on past a few houses to a woodpile at the end of the road. On the right side you will see the golf course of Schloss Pichlarn. Past the woodpile, the path leads you downhill into the forest. After a few meters you have the possibility to take a short detour (approx. 5 minutes walking time) to the left to the Pürglitzschanze - an old weir.
Getting there
