Year-Round Delights from the Region

The idea behind it

The new Schladming-Dachstein Weckerl is now available—a hearty breakfast to start your day or a convenient snack for hikes, bike rides, and those little hunger pangs in between. The Weckerl comes in two varieties: a savory bacon Weckerl or a cheese Weckerl.

But even during the off-season, when many alpine huts are already closed, it’s not always possible to stop for a bite to eat along the way. The new Schladming-Dachstein Weckerl offers an alternative and brings a little piece of Schladming-Dachstein right into your backpack.

From the region, for the region

The bacon comes from the Spanberger butcher shop in Gröbming, which makes its own sausages using traditional recipes. The cheese comes from Moserhof, a company also based in the region, in Haus im Ennstal. In their on-site cheese dairy, Jenny and Gerhard Schrempf produce a wide variety of sliced cheeses using traditional methods.

The base is a sourdough made from wheat and rye flour. The rolls are baked by the Steffl-Bäck bakery and pastry shop. This family-run business is now in its third generation, led by Sebastian Knapp according to the philosophy “MORE TIME, MORE QUALITY & MORE CRAFTSMANSHIP.”

All three businesses are among our Schladming-Dachstein gourmet partners.
