[ku:L] Kunst- & Kulturhaus Öblarn
Stiller is on the search. On the eternal search. For truthfulness and immediacy. For the great love and for true friendship. In search of the divine, the light. And from this his songs arise - all witnesses of this search. Some naive, some melancholic and lost, some hopeful and strong. All united in the dream of a peaceful and tender world, where people have managed to live in harmony with themselves and the entire cosmos.
A name that immediately sounds familiar. Found by chance, on a book cover by Max Frisch, on one of those summer days in search of suitable travel reading. On it a lake in mild blue, below the name "Stiller". The symbolic image and the corresponding feeling became the program, the overall concept. Distant narratives shine through, because Stiller sounds exactly as one imagines this memory. The biographically between Buenos Aires and the Styrian Enns Valley located Klaus Meissnitzer alias Stiller, one knows already from the Styrian band Amanda.
The classic story: at the age of 10, his aunt gave him the Beatles' red album for Christmas and the musical ambition to go with it. In the core of Stiller's tracks you can still find fragments of this socialization. Music is a mission for Stiller, always has been. In recent years, the recurring desire to write their own songs, completely without compromise, to create a place for their own.
Stiller is the result of this search. Actually a solo project, in which the artistic collaboration with friends in the end nevertheless remains essential for the character of the songs. Some of the tracks are already overgrown by time and date back almost 10 years. Now they have found a space. Between many symbolic, but sometimes concrete mountains and valleys, Stiller moves narratively through the present.
