The great stage charisma of the Canadian songwriter with Dutch roots comes through the music: A wonderfully versatile and distinctive voice that is able to change effortlessly from smoky, cowboy-rough depths to sugar-sweet, girlishly delicate heights in one breath. And a rich treasure trove of self-written songs about love and life, from sensitive folk-pop ballads to country songs to rock songwriter pop. One more beautiful than the other.
