2nd set: Steph Geremia & Dermot Byrne & Aaron Jones (IE)

The two “Masters of Arts” on their instruments GORMLAITH MAYNES (Concertina) and JENNIFER LEAHY (Irish Harp)
will open the evening with great dynamics and in the rarely heard duo line-up of concertina & harp. Gormlaith Maynes
comes from Drogheda, County Louth, and most recently played as a founding member in the Canadian band INN ECHO.
She taught Irish Language (Gaelic) at the University of Canada on Prince Edward Island. Gormlaith began her concertina
training at the age of 10 with Micheál Ó Raghallaigh, who - oh coincidence - had already appeared on one of my
Weltenklang tours 20 years ago.

Jennifer Leahy comes from Kells, County Meath, and began her harp training at the age of six. She has already
received numerous high awards as a harpist, such as the High Achievers Award from the Royal Irish Academy of Music,
played for Irish President Michael D. Higgins, performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and appeared at the World
Harp Congress in Sydney.

Big names from the Celtic scene then make Part II of the tour concerts memorable events. The wonderful flautist/singer
STEPH GEREMIA (Alan Kelly Gang) has a top trio at the start with none other than accordion guru DERMOT BYRNE
(Altan) and bouzouki master AARON JONES (Old Blind Dogs)! Steph Geremia is one of the very best flute virtuosos in
the scene. She toured America with the Chieftains (2007), founded the Alan Kelly Gang with her partner 15 years ago,
has been part of the Scottish chanteuse Eddi Reader's permanent band since 2010, where she is responsible for flutes,
saxophone and backing vocals, and toured in 2022 also as a flautist with the supergroup Lunasa.

It would be pointless to list the other collaborations here, as they are almost endless, which underlines her status as one
of the most important virtuosos on the Irish concert flute. (continued here:

After “The Open Road” (2009) and “Up She Flew” (2018), her third, brand new album “If Tomorrow” has now been
released to a lot of media attention. Produced by John McCusker (Mark Knopfler Band), she is performing This album
once again proves her qualities as a formidable singer. "as good an album of top-drawer Irish tradition as is imaginable"
Rock n Reel When it comes to the Irish button accordion, you certainly can't ignore one name - Dermot Byrne. The quiet,
introverted star on the "box", who comes from a well-known family of accordion players from Inishowen, Co. Donegal,
was one of the creative minds of the Irish superstars ALTAN for 20 years and shaped the band's sound with his sensitive
and yet powerful style plays a key role.

Dermot won his first "All Ireland Champion" title in 1976, when he was just six years old! In addition to Irish greats like
Mary Black, Paul Brady, Tommy Peoples, he also worked with legends like Dolly Parton, Stephane Grappelli and Alison
Krauss, to name just a few Bouzouki master Aaron Jones from Moffat, Scottish Borders, received the prestigious
"instrumentalist of the year" award at the 2005 "Scots Trad Music Awards" and won the "folk band of" award in 2004
with his band Old Blind Dogs the year".

He literally tours around the world with various line-ups, and few musicians have been able to compete with him in terms
of air miles in recent years! His powerful bouzouki playing and his inspired vocals make him one of the most sought-after
musicians; he has toured with The Boys Of The Lough, Kate Rusby, Annie Grace, Iron Horse, Battlefield Band and many
more.
