Tour description
The Ice Palace presents you with a mystical world created from ice and snow deep inside the glacier. Marvel six meters below the eternal ice at the exhibition "Explore the glacier"!
Created in 2007, the Ice Palace promises astonishment by showing off meticulous cut figures, ice pillars as well as a crystal dome.
The Ice Palace is only three minutes away from the top station and is opened daily. To get to the Ice Palace, you have to cross the suspension bridge!
Dogs are not allowed in the ice palace!

The Dachstein Ice Palace - a special natural jewel and also a symbol of the importance of environmental protection and sustainable tourism.
In the new exhibition, which was designed together with La Strada Graz and the Universalmuseum Joanneum Graz, visitors can follow in the footsteps of Alpine explorer Friedrich Simony and take a look at the many facets of the glacier together with him.
Bisherige Ausstellungen: Hinauf auf die BergeThe Dachstein Ice Palace took visitors "Up into the mountains" until the beginning of 2023.
Our ice palace team, consisting of Hans Böhmer and Peter Strassegger, created a tour through the alpine adventure world together with the sculptor team led by Michael Bachnetzer. A tow lift, a summit cross, a climber and a mountain biker were carved into the ice with great attention to detail.
Of course, the "50 years of Planai-Hochwurzen Bahnen" anniversary was not to be missed with its own station under this motto!
