The Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area

Schladming-Dachstein is a proud member of Austria’s largest ski alliance, Ski amadé – while the 4-Mountain Ski Area promises an unforgettable experience guaranteed to whet the appetite of every avid skier. The four mountains – the Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen, and Reiteralm – are directly interconnected to offer 123 uninterrupted kilometers of pistes, boundless variety, exciting sporting challenges, and spectacular alpine highlights.

Hauser Kaibling

Hauser Kaibling, the easternmost mountain in the 4-Mountain Ski Area, also represents its highest point at 2,015 meters above sea level. Here, skiers and snowboarders can choose between blue-, red-, and black-rated runs, as well as carving hills, funslopes, and an array of rustic mountain huts. One absolute highlight is the FIS World Cup Hill dropping down to the valley. Less experienced skiers always have easier alternate routes available to them. Beginners will find a dedicated 24,000-square-meter practice area right next to the base station of the 8-seater gondola: “Wolli’s Kids Park” features a platter lift, three magic carpets, and noob-friendly pistes – ideal preparation, in other words, for the skiing and snowboarding fun which awaits them inside the 4-Mountain Ski Area proper.

Planai

Whether ambitious skier or laid-back cruiser – the Planai has the perfect opportunity in store for everyone. The legendary 4.6-kilometer FIS run from the summit down to the iconic Planai finish area is a must. Though recreational skiers have a wide variety of pistes to choose from as well. The youngsters will have the time of their lives at Hopsi’s Winter Wonderland, with various themed stations that are quite magical. Families looking for enjoyment away from the pistes are sure to enjoy the Funslope and Funcross courses, suitable for all age and ability levels. And for those who want nothing more than to take in the glorious scenery, a three-kilometer winter hiking trail just below the summit offers a peaceful escape.

Hochwurzen

Especially convenient for guests staying in Rohrmoos: straight out of bed and onto the slopes! Cars can be left parked, while many accommodations even feature direct access to the ski runs. Funslopes and a speed course provide for added variety on the mountain. And if that’s still not enough: night skiing is also an option. All kinds of fun on two runners awaits on the seven-kilometer toboggan run – likewise open after dark. Anyone looking to take the occasional winter stroll is certain to love the Four-Seasons Hiking Path. It is walkable up- or downhill, about six kilometers long, and runs from the summit of the Hochwurzen down to Hotel Winterer, and the parking lot for the Hochwurzen II quad chairlift.

Reiteralm

The Reiteralm is located at the western gateway to the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area. In recent years, it has established itself as the “training mountain of the world’s ski elite.” In the prestigious international Ski Area Test, the Reiteralm was in fact the only ski resort in Europe to receive the Piste Seal of Quality in Gold for the fifth year in a row. Crosspark Reiteralm is an innovative addition that appeals to beginners and pros alike. Over a distance of 750 meters, it combines steep banked turns, jumps, waves, and all kinds of skiing action.
