Small Mountains for the Whole Family

Charming ski mountains perfect for families, beginners, and recreational skiers.

Galsterberg

The 10-passenger gondola on the Galsterberg carries guests from the valley to the top station in just six and a half minutes. Thanks to the glass sides, passengers are able to enjoy an impressive 360-degree panoramic view during the ascent. The Galsterberg also stands out due to its laid-back pistes, rustic mountain huts, and one of the longest floodlit toboggan runs in the region. A special kind of skiing fun for big and small awaits at the Gallic Ski Village – a lovingly designed children’s area populated by speaking ancient Romans and Gallic heroes, with plenty of room to play and release some of that pent-up youthful energy.

Ramsau am Dachstein and the Rittisberg

With Kaliland and the variety-packed Kali’s Adventure Slopes, Ramsau am Dachstein invites children to discover the joys of skiing through play. They are joined by Kali the Ramsaurier – the resort’s cute winter mascot. The Rittisberg boasts pistes with lots of variety and suited for all ability levels, a fairytale-themed cross-country trail, and a 3.5-kilometer toboggan run. A modern combo lift with 10-passenger gondolas and 6-seater chairlifts brings skiers, sledders, and winter hikers to the top of the mountain in total comfort. In addition to alpine skiing, the Rittisberg also invites cross-country skiers, snowshoers, and winter hikers to discover a wide range of delightful experiences.

Riesneralm

At the Riesneralm in Donnersbachwald, young winter sports fans can look forward to a really big kids’ zone. With the construction of a modern ski school center and the addition of the Kisi-Jet conveyor lift, the children’s ski area has now been expanded to an ultra-impressive six hectares, where five runs and five lifts provide the ideal setting for our up-and-coming skiers. With 35 kilometers of pistes, the ski area also has plenty of enjoyment in store for the grown-ups as well. True to the motto “Less lift time, more ski time,” four extra-long downhill runs drop all the way down into the valley. The Skimovie race hill brings added excitement in the form of cameras and whole new perspectives. The KISI Kids Ski Area also features a new permanent race hill. At the MAKIA. SKI Performance Center located at the base of the Panorama 6-seater lift, professional-level ski training is available.

Planneralm

As the highest-altitude ski village in the region, the Planneralm has always been able to rely on its natural terrain features and consistent snow quality. At elevations between 1,600 and 2,200 meters, the snowy experiences renew themselves from one year to the next – naturally, and in ever-surprising ways. This is a paradise for kids playing or sledding in the deep snow, as well as for freeriders, ski tourers, and alpine skiers. Families are likewise drawn to the Planneralm, not least due to its child-friendly lifts and extremely reasonable pricing.
