Ramsau am Dachstein becomes a cross-country hotspot for all generations
From January 9 to 11, 2026, Ramsau am Dachstein will once again be focused squarely on Nordic sports. As the biggest open cross-country skiing event in the region, the Dachsteinlauf invites everyone with a passion for vigorous physical activity in the snow to take part. Whether you regard yourself as a “pro,” a hobby skier, or purely a nature lover – this event has the perfect experience in store for everyone.
Variety on the XC trails
From races requiring classic cross-country technique to popular distances for “skaters” along with the Dachstein Culinary Run – ultimately, this is all about the joy of physical activity in the great outdoors. Participants can choose from a range of distances, from a 10-kilometer route all the way up to a challenging 40-kilometer course. Thanks to the extremely popular Dachstein Culinary Run, team divisions, and even a Kids Race, the event offers formats certain to appeal to every age group and every fitness level.
New: The Dachstein Business Run
The Dachstein Business Run will debut in 2026. On a 5-kilometer course, employees from various companies compete in teams of three. The emphasis is on team spirit, strategy, and the shared joy of sport. Final times are calculated by totaling up the individual results – though pulling together as a team is clearly the main point of the event.
Culinary delights meet alpine landscapes
A special treat for all food lovers is the expanded Dachstein Culinary Run. And for the first time, winter hikers are also invited to partake in the regional specialties offered along the roughly five-kilometer route. The culinary stations combined with views of Ramsau’s magnificent winter countryside make this event a truly unforgettable experience.

For 27 years, the Dachsteinlauf (formerly Tour de Ramsau) has been a fixture on the Nordic sports calendar. Ramsau am Dachstein, a mecca of Nordic sports in the region, provides the perfect setting.
