The Farmer's Autumn is a very special time in our region. Numerous events and traditional festivals line the calendar of events in the so-called "5th season". Everywhere festive atmosphere and delicious delicacies from the region, of course homemade by local farmers. An absolute highlight in the autumn season is the Almabtrieb.
The traditional Dachstein Almabtrieb begins on Friday, September 20, 2024 with the "Schottenrühren" and musical entertainment at the Walcheralm.
On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the festival begins at 09:00 with an alpine breakfast on the Walcheralm. Thereby the animals will be decorated for the Almabtrieb from 11:00, starting from the Walcheralm along the Dachsteinstraße to the Walcherhof. Music and entertainment are provided at the "Hoamfoarfest" at the Walcherhof from 10:00 - 17:00.
