Kala is a secured climbing route for youngsters, but adults will also find it demanding.

Note: You can easily bypass Kali's most difficult passages by switching to Kali.

From the bus stop or the "Alte Mühle" parking lot to the Alte Mühle. Turn left there and climb the scree slope to the starting point.

Follow the nature and environmental trail, past the Pension Concordia, back down to the Ramsaubach stream, and then take the Hofrat-Gruber-Weg back to the bus stop and parking lot at the Alte Mühle.

Arriving from the west:

From the west you can take the Munich-Salzburg motorway, continuing on the Tauern motorway (A 10) until the Ennstal junction. From here take the Ennstal A-road (the B 320) for around 30 km into the Schladming-Dachstein region, then take the Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off. Continue to the Ramsau plateau and about 1 km after Ramsau Kulm turn right to Rössing and continue to the Alte Mühle parking lot.

Arriving from the north and east:

From the south-east take the Pyhrnautobahn motorway (A 9) to the Liezen junction and then the Ennstal A-road (B 320) into the Schladming-Dachstein region. Then take the Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off. Continue to the Ramsau plateau and about 1 km after Ramsau Kulm turn right to Rössing and continue to the Alte Mühle parking lot.

The starting point can be reached by hiking route #962 - bus stop "Alte Mühle".
