Rudolf-Schober-Hütte
Tour description
Various peaks can also be tackled from here, such as the Bauleiteck (2,424 m) or the Süßleiteck (2,507 m). With a little luck, rare animals such as ibexes can also be spotted during a tour.
Fastest way to the hut
Through the Etrachbach valley and on to the Etrachsee, where a parking lot is available. From here, another approx. 1:30 h ascent via a forest road to the destination. Walking time: 1:30 h.
Life at the hut
The hut, which was built in 1885, serves warm meals throughout the day and is a recommended place to stop, especially for spoiled gourmets. Especially the Schlickkrapfen, which are rich in variations, should definitely be tried. Meanwhile, children can spend their time at the playground. For overnight stays there are three four-bed rooms and a comfortable camp for 12 people. In winter, only the winter room is accessible, but an AV lock is required. WC, blankets, cooking and eating utensils are also available in the winter room. Good to know WC and shower with hot water available. Electricity comes from the in-house small hydroelectric power plant. Moderate cell phone reception and no WiFi. Dogs are welcome. Payment in cash only.
