Trautenfels Castle stands as a landmark of the central Enns Valley on a rocky outcrop at the foot of the Grimming mountain. The eventful and dynamic history of Trautenfels Castle, then still called Neuhaus Castle, begins with its first documented mention in 1261. About 400 years later, Count Siegmund Friedrich von Trauttmansdorff bought the castle, had it remodeled and refurbished, and renamed it Trautenfels. Historically and energetically, Trautenfels Castle is a dynamic place.
