Tour description

Thirty years after the Battles of Stalingrad, this chapel was built by the Austrian Stalingrad League in Aigen im Ennstal: 285,000 soldiers of the 6th Army were trapped, and many wounded were flown out. 250,000 soldiers had fallen, frozen to death, or died in captivity. In contrast to its history, the site above the village of Ritzmannsdorf is a bright location with a fascinating view.

In Wörschach, take the B320 Ennstal federal highway and head towards Aigen im Ennstal. In the Ketten district, turn left onto the L741 towards Döllach/Liezen. After 50 meters, turn right and follow the road to Tachenberg/towards Oppenberg. Continue through Tachenberg until just after the turnoff to Hochhuberhof, then turn left uphill onto Möslweg. After about 1.5 km, you will reach the Mösl-Stalingradkreuz parking area at the edge of the forest.
Parking is available at the Mösl-Stalingradkreuz parking area.

No public transport access.
