Harmeralm
Tour description
On the rustic Harmeralm with dairy farming, the Ennstaler Steierkas is produced according to an old traditional recipe. Typical for alpine farming in the Ennstal, butter is also produced. Both can be enjoyed on the Harmeralm at Schwarzensee.
The Harmeralm run by Albert and Gundi Binder is located directly at Schwarzensee in the Kleinsölktal Nature Park. A rustic waterwheel, a magnificent panoramic view, petting animals, and its own dairy farming await guests at an elevation of 1,100 m. After a gentle 25-minute hike from the parking lot, guests reach the alpine pasture.
Opening hours are from the end of May to the end of September. Hiking tips include the Schwarzenseerunde past the Säusenbach waterfall and the higher Jungviehalm Steinigboden. Afterwards, enjoy an alpine snack from traditional alpine farming.

Butter production
No matter if on bread or for frying in the pan - butter is indispensable in our daily kitchen use. However, there is nothing more wonderful than fresh butter straight from the alpine pasture. At the beginning of August, we had the privilege of visiting Gundi and Albert Binder on the Harmeralm at Schwarzensee and observing the butter production.
