Coming together for folk music

Concert - Klang-Film-Theater

Playing: “Die Hollerschnapszuzler” from Bad Mitterndorf, the 14 year old accordion winner “Laurenz”, as well as the “Huber Buam” from Ramsau. Richard (accordion teacher) and his brother Siegi (deputy bandleader in the Ramsau band) make lively folk music together with Ronny Dornig (also from Ramsau).

Laurenz (accordion winner)
Laurenz is 14 years old and lives with his family in the municipality of St. Andrä-Höch near Kitzeck in western Styria. He has been playing the “Sterische Harmonika” since childhood and won the ORF competition by a large margin in the fall of 2023. A really great, down-to-earth young musician. He is really looking forward to his performance in Schladming.

Hollerschnapszuzler: In January 2003, the three fellow musicians and singers Hans Pliem (1st bass), Hermann Grill (vulgo Hauser, 2nd tenor) and Klaus Neuper (1st tenor) met for a first rehearsal to sing local songs and especially yodels together. The missing bass voice was soon brought in from Gmunden in the person of Gernot Gföllner (Bauer im Schlag). The yodel interpretations of the Goiserer Viergesang, in which Klaus Neuper sang for the last 12 years of its existence, are particularly close to the hearts of the Hollerschnapszuzler, who owe their name to their shared love of the noble brandy enjoyed in moderation.

Richard Huber: a native of Ramsau am Dachstein. He came into contact with folk music at an early age through his father, himself an enthusiastic singer, and by growing up in a mountain hut on the Dachstein.
