Filming Location - Südwandhütte

About three-quarters of an hour away from the bottom station of the Dachstein Gondola, you will find the Südwandhütte, another important location of the TV series. Among other things, the TV-series' wedding of Stefan Hofer and his future wife Emilie took place here.

One of the three innkeepers of the Südwandhütte, Andreas Perner, can tell all kinds of anecdotes about helicopter landings and staged crashes during the shootings. His father, Peter Perner, owner of the Pernerhof (Emilies Hof), is also actively involved in the filming of the TV series. Among other things, he filled the material ropeway to the Südwandhütte with cameras and spotlights, because nobody but him can fill the box so well, according to statements from insider circles. 

The Südwandhütte, at the foot of the Dachstein southern walls, was built in 1924. The view of the Dachstein massif and the surrounding Tauern mountains is impressive. The hut is also the starting point of most of the hiking and climbing tours in the Dachstein area.
