Star Place Aich
Tour description
Ready for the ultimate deep-sky trip? A celestial adventure beyond our solar system awaits you at Sternenplatz Aich! On clear nights, a window opens here to cosmic expanses full of gas nebulae, star clusters, galaxies - and even entire galaxy clusters millions of light years away.
With the naked eye or simple binoculars, you can discover open star clusters such as the Pleiades, which stand like sparkling jewels in the sky. Or take a look at the famous Orion Nebula, where new stars are born. Galaxies like Andromeda are even part of our local neighborhood - just 2.5 million light years away. And if you look even deeper, you will discover cosmic cities: gigantic galaxy clusters with thousands of star systems.
The display boards on site guide you through the various celestial objects and clearly explain how light years work, why we actually look into the past when we look at the sky - and what the universe reveals about the birth and end of stars.
Here you can see exactly where the pitch is located.
