Tour description
Promising walk along the Moosberg driveway to vlg. Moosmoar and in the Sonnberg area, with beautiful views of the airfield Niederöblarn, Öblarn, the Mitterberg as well as the Stoderzinken and Kammspitze.

From the Gasthof Grimmingtor follow the road into the valley to the Moosberg junction at the Moosbergbrücke. You walk along the Moosberg supply road over a few serpentines to the Grimminger Panorama Höhenweg (GPHW) junction at vlg. Moosmoar. Here you turn right and walk past a single house above the "Schulgraben" rift to the driveway from the Webersberger farm. Here you follow the Moosbergstraße uphill to the Gatschberger farm and then steadily downhill in the direction of Sonnberg. After a bit through the forest, you turn right onto the private path to Murberger farm. Continue downhill past the farm and then down the access road from Murberger to the old Niederöblarn state road. Past the Ripplmaier farm you walk back into town to the parking lot at the Gasthof Grimmingtor.
In Espang turn off the B320 federal road onto the state road L734. Two kilometers to Niederöblarn, then turn left into the village and along the main road to the car park opposite the Grimmingtor inn.

Niederöblarn can be reached with the ÖBB regional trains (www.oebb.at).
From the train station you walk to the starting point at the Gasthof Grimmingtor in about 10 minutes.
The path is maintained to the best of our conscience. Nevertheless, icy patches are possible in winter.
Good winter shoes, warm clothing, tuque, and gloves. You might also want to carry a small backbag with a warm drink in a thermos jug.
Along the Sonnberg road the walk can also be started from Öblarn.
