Schönwetterhütte
Tour description
Our Schönwetterhütte is located at an elevation of 1442 meters in the middle of the beautiful Sölktäler Nature Park.
Since 2010, we, Heidi and Manfred Brugger, with the active support of our two children Patricia and Gabriel, our aunt Otti, and grandmother Sybille, have been managing the hut.
The Schönwetterhütte is a popular alpine hut with dining options in the summer as well as in the winter. Not only day guests are warmly welcomed, but also overnight guests who can make themselves comfortable in our 2 dormitories. We have space for a total of 14 people, divided into 1x 8 persons and 1x 6 persons. There is also a small bathroom with a shower. Day guests, as well as overnight guests, are catered primarily with self-produced foods. In addition to the alpine hut, we also own a small farm with an on-site butcher and an apartment for rent. Here, for example, Käsekrainer, Leberkäse, various types of sausage, spreadable sausage, Frankfurter sausages, and bacon are produced. Of course, the eggs for the delicious Kaiserschmarren come from our own free-range chickens.
Just come to relax - you are exactly right at our Schönwetterhütte. After a cozy breakfast, you can immediately hike from the hut to the beautiful summit of Gumpeneck. This tour takes about 2.5 hours (one way) and leads you through stunning unspoiled nature. Through the alpine meadow, known as the Kar, where Archduke Johann once hunted, or sometimes danced, you will reach the "Archduke Johann Cross," which was erected in his honor. Additionally, you will walk past small lakes. Once you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with a dreamy panoramic view. You will often be observed by a few curious sheep during this time. On beautiful days, you can even see up to 13 church towers from the summit.
After this lovely tour, you can cool your feet in the nearby stream and then make yourself comfortable in front of or inside the hut. Maybe with a delicious roast pork with cabbage, dumplings, and a cold beer?
You are also very welcome to visit us in winter. The Gumpeneck is also worth a visit in winter, preferably with touring skis. For those who prefer a more leisurely experience, a snowshoe hike to the hut is also possible. Our tiled stove provides a cozy atmosphere, and with a hearty beef soup or a hot mulled wine, you'll feel warm again in no time.
We would definitely look forward to your visit.
