Öblarn Water Experience
Tour description
In the unique natural hazard simulation model “Wassererlebnis Öblarn”, educational tours are offered that combine awareness building with play and fun.
To this end, a hydrological model accurately represents the catchment area of the Walchenbach, the town of Öblarn, and the retention areas along the Enns River. In addition to provided information on natural hazard management, simulations of debris flows, floods, and inundations can be actively shaped by visitors of all ages.
This way, an answer is found as to how and through which natural and/or technical measures the negative impacts of flood events (such as in 2017 in the town center of Öblarn) can be avoided.
Additionally, the shared ride in the covered wagon, which accommodates up to 45 people, offers a special experience.
