Fritz Ostermayer about Sotvr's last album "Solitary Company"
New album - "Ghost Ranch"
SotVR have taken 3 years, in spring 2024 the new album "Ghost Ranch" will be released on Fluff & Gravy Records. Next year, SotVR will go on tour with it in Austria and Germany.
The album was recorded at the Red Barn Recorders studio in the Californian desert. Illustrious guests such as Marc Ribot on guitar, Jolie Holland as back-up singer and violinist and Jay Bellerose on drums were among those involved. Nevertheless, the instrumentation is more sparse and transparent than ever before on SotVR.
Live, the songs are once again reduced to their core. SotVR will perform as a duo. Heike now plays the drums as well as various keyboard instruments.
The new program includes songs from the current album, many highlights from the back catalog and is characterized by special variety and dynamics. The spectrum ranges from fragile neo-folk chanson to rough garage rock.
