Matters of the heart in unplugged style - [ku:L] Kunst- und Kulturhaus Öblarn
The story of Melanie Mau and Martin Schnella began with the song "Miracles Out Of Nowhere" by the band Kansas. The two thoroughbred musicians discovered their passion for making music together through their own arrangement of this song. Since then, the duo from Osterode in Lower Saxony has been playing music in an acoustic guise. Their concert tours have already taken them all over Europe and the USA, where they performed at the renowned Progstock Festival.
Melanie Mau and Martin Schnella's repertoire includes cover songs, which they rearrange in their own style, as well as numerous originals. The most important thing, however, is that their music always comes from the bottom of their hearts and is literally a "matter of the heart"!
The two perform live in different line-ups - as a duo, trio, quartet or quintet.
The permanent band includes Simon Schröder (percussion, vocals), Lars Lehmann (bass) and Mathias Ruck (vocals).
In December 2015, "Gray Matters", the band's first cover CD, saw the light of day. This was followed by "The Oblivion Tales", the first release with exclusively original compositions. Two further cover albums, "Pieces To Remember" (2018) and "Through The Decades" (2020), received positive feedback worldwide. During the pandemic, they produced a live DVD/CD with the full band line-up, the "Crowdless Sessions", but without an audience due to the pandemic.
In May 2022, Melanie Mau and Martin Schnella released the CD "Invoke The Ghosts" with the help of their band and numerous guest musicians - an album that reflects their "acoustic prog" style more uncompromisingly than ever before.
