ATTENTION! The event has already taken place.

In the spirit of Joe Zawinul, the pioneer of the use of electronic keyboard instruments and the grand master of fusion jazz - whether with Miles Davis, Weather Report or his own Zawinul Syndicate, which then also put world jazz in the spotlight - David Helbock can be heard for the first time on electronic keyboard instruments alone on "Austrian Syndicate". He leaves the place at the piano stool entirely to Peter Madsen. "He taught me practically everything I know about music and jazz," says Helbock about his former teacher, mentor and current friend. A true piano hero, but far too often an insider tip, who went on a world tour with Stan Getz in 1987 and has since played with the "who's who" of the jazz scene.

The "Austrian Syndicate", led by keyboard virtuoso David Helbock, presents a powerful fusion jazz adventure that celebrates the diversity of music. Helbock, on electronic keyboard instruments, leads a dynamic group including Peter Madsen, an icon of jazz piano, as well as Raphael Preuschl on bass and bass ukulele, drummer Herbert Pirker and percussionist Claudio Spieler. This quintet is given added sparkle by world-class guests such as Maria João, Fred Wesley, Dhafer Youssef, Alex Acuña and Lakecia Benjamin, and the album "Austrian Syndicate" boldly combines a wide variety of styles - from Latin and funk rhythms to arabesques and prog-rock elements. It reflects the musical roots of Joe Zawinul and expands them into a contemporary, world music vision. From rousing acid jazz to lyrical moments, this work offers an impressive journey through musical landscapes. The tracks unite the creative brilliance of all members and guests, creating captivating soundscapes and delivering boundless fusion jazz with an irresistible groove. The "Austrian Syndicate" embodies music without borders and plays for the whole world.
