The tour
Right at the beginning we walk through the wild romantic „ovens“ (Gröbminger Öfen), a ravine that separates the two mountains Stoderzinken and Kamm. After approximately 1 ½ walking time we reach the Viehbergalm, which is situated 1445 m above sea level. Afterwards we walk another 25 minutes to the Miesbodensee, a special scenic gem of the Dachstein plateau. The almost circular bog lake is surrounded by a large floating mat.
Turn-by-turn directions
Right at the beginning you hike through the romantic stoves, a gorge that "cuts through" the two mountains Stoderzinken and Kamm, and in the middle of which the Gröbminger brook falls down. After about an hour and a half you reach the Viehbergalm, which is 1445m above sea level. The difference in altitude is 565m. Then it goes on for about 25 minutes until you reach the Miesbodensee. The Miesbodensee is a special scenic gem of the Dachstein plateau. The almost circular moor lake is surrounded by an extensive swingrass.
