Alpine loop to the idyllic Moaralmsee
moderate Hiking · Haus-Aich-Gössenberg
The 8-seater gondola and the 4-seater “Quattralpina” chairlift will remain closed in summer 2024 due to construction work. Only the Schladminger Tauern cable car is in operation from Haus in Ennstal. Since the construction site stretches across the transmitter plateau, all hiking and cycling paths and play stations located there are also closed. The main hiking routes such as. the Schafsinn circular route, the summit circular route, the children's adventure trail and much more will therefore not be available as usual. The family offers such as downhill disc golf, petting zoo, children's adventure trail and various play stations on the mountain will not be available in summer 2024. The exception is the Schafsinn pond - there the unsupervised offers such as: Barefoot path, sheep via ferrata, sheep jumping, etc. - excluding water zorbing - are available. The Wollis Kids Park in the valley is open for children and families.
Hiking trails that are not accessible:
- Schafsinn circular route
- Children's adventure trail
- Summit circular route
The great difference in altitude can be comfortably overcome with the Schladminger Tauern cable car or Hauser Kaibling cable car & 8-seater chair lift Kaiblinggrat. The half-hour ascent to the summit of Hauser Kaibling (2,015 m) is full of views, the summit panorama is magnificent. The descent to the Rossfeldsattel requires some attention due to the Wurzelsteig. The same goes for the short, rugged passage on trail no. 45 to the Moaralmsee. This lake lies like a turquoise-green jewel in the middle of a magnificent high mountain scenery. Soft, green moss cushions contrast with the towering pyramid of the Höchstein - and during the Alpine rose blossom the contrast between the turquoise-green water and the red of the Alpine roses is particularly obvious. Take the same path at the foot of the Bärfallspitze back to the Rossfeldsattel, then over the Kaiblingalm and on the wide alpine path back to the mountain station.
Variant 2: If you prefer a "sporty" way back, ascend from the Moaralmsee on a narrow path to the Seescharte (no. 45) and then take the descent no. 780 to the Kaiblingalm.
Variant 3: starting from the Moaralmsee, trail no. 781 (beautiful alpine path) leads to the Oberen Moaralm and further down into the Gumpental (forest road). The hosts of the Stangl Alm spoil tired hikers with all kinds of delicacies. From there, the hiking cab will gladly take you back to the valley station of the cable car. Daily at 14.15 and 16.30 o'clock against advance reservation under phone +43 664 200 44 44!
