Attwenger

Concert - Klang-Film-Theater

The duo ATTWENGER from Linz is likeably unclassifiable. And they have been for more than 30 years. Their origins can be found in folk music as well as in the alternative band scenes of the 1990s. With drums, button accordion and the anarchic Upper Austrian Gstanzln, they conquered an audience far beyond the borders of the country.
“I have no idea, what it Às all about, but I like the general noise, a great deal”, said John Peel, BBC radio legend, about the duo. The poet Ernst Jandl added with admiration: “This is simply concrete poetry”.
some people think that attwenger is the most inimitable band between linz and overseas, while others have never heard of us or have forgotten about us again. that's why we've made our 9th studio album, an overdue boomer production, 15 new songs with all the trimmings: trap slang and country fiction, kraut and turnip music, mental criticism, dialect groove, electronica and polka punk.

“Attwenger are not only the most virtuosic, but also the most contradictory ruffians to have haunted the pop business in years. Because the stars ran out of ideas, they traveled to Africa and Latin America to make music with the natives. In the case of Attwenger, things are different. Here the savages make music themselves.” (Süddeutsche Zeitung)

A 36-part devil's ride that cultivates the percussion-quetschn-gstanzl-electronic madness at the highest level. Chapeau! [Der Falter]
