Via Ferrata Hias
średnio trudne zamknięte Via ferratas · C/D · Ramsau am Dachstein
A samall, sporty and rather "zesty" via ferrata close to the valley, making it very suitable for climbers who are not necessarly athletes. The via ferrata itself is short but sweet. The natural setting was used to perfection - two beatiful rope bridges and some steepish rockfaces are the result. The gorge is a grat family hike. Whilst sportierfamily can simply enjoy the trail through the gorge.
Please note: the gorge is privately owned by the Erlbacher family. The entrance fee is used to repair the path and maintain the via ferratas.
Access:
From the car park, walk up to the entrance of the Silberkar gorge (maintenance fee for adults and children). Follow the path along the first wooden ladders until you reach a flat passage with a bench, yellow information board and rock blocks. From here, you’ll see the first rope bridge.
Descent:
At the end of the Via Ferrata, follow the red markings. Take a left and hike back down to the gorge. Alternatively, take a right up to the Silberkarhütte and hike up to the entrance of the Via Ferrata Siega.
Arriving from the west:From the west you can take the Munich-Salzburg motorway, continuing on the Tauern motorway (A 10) until the Ennstal junction. From here take the Ennstal A-road (the B 320) for around 30 km into the Schladming-Dachstein region, then take the Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off. Then straight ahead 4 km and directly after the bridge turn left and follow "Silberkarklamm" signs.
Arriving from the north:From the south-east take the Pyhrnautobahn motorway (A 9) to the Liezen junction and then the Ennstal A-road (B 320) into the Schladming-Dachstein region. Then take the Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off. Then straight ahead 4 km and directly after the bridge turn left and follow "Silberkarklamm" signs.
The starting point can be reached by hiking bus (in operation from 25.6.2022). From the bus stop "Ramsau Silberkarklamm" short walk up to the gorge entrance.
