The Fairytale Trail

Due to renovation work at the Hotel Schwaigerhof in Rohrmoos, it is recommended to start the circular route from the Hochwurzen valley station. From here follow the route signs past the Hotel Waldfrieden to the Alpstegerhof and there along the dirt road north to the Rapunzel station and here west along the fairytale path. Access to the first station in the direction of Schwaigerhof is also possible, but after that the path is closed due to the construction site.
A loop trail filled with lots of lovely ideas for the whole family. Discover the fairytale characters along the trail and get excited with various playground equipment.
The trail is made up of a wide forest and meadow trail with only slight ascent and descents, and it is suitable for buggies. Along the way there are serveral possibilities where you can stop for a drink or a small snack: Hotel Schwaigerhof, Tauernalm and Familienhotel Austria.

Vorbei am Apart & Suiten Hotel Weiden und Hotel Schwaigerhof wanderst über einen schönen Wiesenweg Richtung Westen. Das prachtvolle Dachstein-Massiv vor dir, führt der Weg entlang liebevoll gestalteter Märchenfiguren und Spielgeräte kinderwagentauglich zum „Hexenhäusl“. Auf dem Weg warten unter anderem Rapunzel, Fred Feuerstein, die Bremer Stadtmusikanten, Frau Holle und der Froschkönig auf die kleinen Gäste.
Vom Hexenhäusl führt der Weg zum Haus Strobl, von wo du dem Lans-Strobl-Weg zur Rohrmoosstraße folgst. Kurz der Straße entlang bergab bis zum Haus Primps. Nach weiteren ca. 200 m querst du die Straße und wanderst entlang des Forstweges und der Wiese (im Winter eine Skipiste) zurück bis zur Talstation der Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen.- hier besteht eine Anschlussmöglichkeit an den Schwammerlweg. Einkehren kannst Du hier ebenfalls: in der Tauernalm oder beim Familienhotel Austria.
Von der Talstation wanderst du am Familienhotel Austria vorbei und links vom Hotel Waldfrieden über den schönen Wiesenweg zurück Richtung Hotel Schwaigerhof und Startpunkt.
With the Planai buses from Schladming (Planet-Planai, Lendplatz) or Rohrmoos (Rohrmoos-Zentrum) to Rohrmoos - bus stop "Schwaigerhof". Alternatively continue to the valley terminal of "Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen" cable car.

Parking is available at the turnoff of "Schwaigerweg" road.Please do not use the parking of the hotels nearby. If no parking is available, use the alternative starting point at the valley terminal of Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen cable car - there is plenty of parking there.
Hiking or trekking shoes with grip sole, jacket.
The trail is also suitable for prams.
- Ein Jausenpaket darf nicht fehlen :) Entlang des Weges gibt es gemütliche Verweilmöglichkeiten für eine Jause zwischendurch.Hol Dir Deinen Picknick-Rucksack beim Kaufhaus Sieder im Zentrum von Rohrmoos!
- Alternativ ist ein Start bei der Talstation der Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen möglich.
