Enns bike path - 2nd day stage
gemiddeld geopend Trekkingbike tour · Schladming
We say goodbye to Schladming via the Katzenburgweg, and drive along tracks to Lehen. A somewhat wider, but nevertheless quiet road leads via Oberhaus to Haus im Ennstal, where we drive on the Marktstraße through the village. About at the church we turn left to the Enns, which we cross. Immediately after the bridge we turn right to Weißenbach. In the village we go up in the direction of Sonnberg. Attention, immediately after crossing the Gnadenbach, turn sharp right at the crossroads and go down to Aich, where we turn right at the crossroads and left directly in front of the railway station.
We have promised you interesting excursions. Here would be a first opportunity: Namely a side trip to the beautiful, Styrian Bodensee. The train goes straight ahead. Maybe it should be mentioned here, we are facing a quite good gradient, but the reward is also high.
The main route leads us between the railway line and the Enns on a beautiful asphalted road. After about 2 kilometres we cross once more the Enns and further geht´s through a beautiful Ennsau to Pruggern. In the Pruggerischen district left of the Enns it is recommended to visit the Radt petrol station if you have little things to do, or the visit of the Radgasthof Pruggererhof is the perfect opportunity for a little rest, spoiled with Styrian delicacies.
Next stop: Moosheim. Before we reach the Kircherl, we turn left to Schloss Moosheim - and continue to Tunzendorf. The route now takes us to the small villages of Öblarn and Niederöblarn, where we keep left and after a few metres turn right again towards Irdning, which is also the destination of today's tour stage.
The right bike: touring bike or city bike, racing bikes are not recommended.
Breakdowns can happen - but seldom in front of the door of one of the numerous service points: basic equipment for tools and accessories therefore never does any harm! Replacement hose and/or repair kit, universal wrench, air pump, brake and shift cable and a screwdriver can be usefull.
