Excursion mountains

An overview of excursion mountains

In summer, the ski mountains of the Schladming-Dachstein Region are transformed into popular destinations for excursioners.

It isn’t only Dachstein Glacier – with its suspension footbridge, Stairway to Nothingness, Ice Palace and Sky Walk – that’s worth the trip. On the Planai, too, Hopsiland – including climbing elements, swings, slides, a ball track and a separate water world – is ideal for the whole family. For those in search of adventure, the zipline and adventure park on the Stoderzinken promise exhilarating moments. The Rittisberg offers countless opportunities for big and small: an Alpine coaster, Flyline and, of course, the swimming lake are just a few examples. If you love to zoom down the hillside, the mountain go-karts on the Hochwurzen are certain to appeal to you.

Hikers in search of a natural idyll are bound to fall in love with the Gassel lakes - “Mirror Lake” in particular, with its astonishing reflection of the Dachstein massif - on the Reiteralm. In addition to beautiful hikes such as the sheep theme path, disc golf and E-trials courses on the Hauser Kaibling promise lots of variety. The Riesneralm greets you with a summit pool for nostalgic swimming experiences, while the Planneralm has many ways to guarantee you will forget the gray daily routine, including archery. And of course, animal encounters are also a must: For the most part, marmots are very shy. But if you want to get as close as possible to these furry little creatures, the Galsterberg is definitely the place to visit.
