Chapel of St. John

A Marian shrine.

The chapel of St. John in Hohenberg is the oldest preserved church in the Enns valley and is dedicated to the two saints "John the Baptist" and "John the Evangelist".

The remarkable winged altar, a work of Lienhard Astl, was created around 1520 and shows depictions from the life of St. John. Also worth mentioning are the ogival west portal and the heavy door with fittings from the Gothic period.
