Kaltenbachalm - Sölkpass
The Kaltenbachalm (at 1600 sea level) is a private alpine hut at the Sölkpass which we (Familie Fuchs Manuela und Andreas) farm and manage during summer by early June to late September.
Hiking trips:
Sölkpass (1790m), Römerweg (Eiszeitlehrpfad), Hornfeldspitze (2277m), Nageleck (2155m), Three Lakes: 3 Kaltenbachseen, Etrachboden, Schafspitze, Deneck (2433m)
Agricultural Management:
There are grazing about 40 cattles (therefrom up to 8 milking cows) during summer from mid-june to mid-september. The area for the cattle reach up to the Sölkpass and up to the second lake (2. Kaltenbachsee).
Alpine specialties
We are making butter, buttermilk, curd and five different kinds of cheese and we are selling these products at our alpine hut. You can try these specialties with self made bread or taking home. If you are tired of eating or from drinking our home-made schnapps you can sleep in our large room (for a maximum of 7 persons) in the barn over the cows next to the haylage or in a room for 3 persons.

We have a private alpine hut at the Sölkpass which we farm and manage during summer by early June to late September.
One room for 7 persons with a beautiful view of the mountains of Sölktäler Naturepark; one room für 3 persons; family friendly, near the forest, fresh air, fresh water, Washing facility at the creek or at the guest toilet, we are right at the hiking trail with a lots of hiking possibilities; upon request you can make your own butter, You can accompany us to count and drive our cattle, we can tell you something about how to make our different kinds of cheese
We speak English & German, we have car parking lots and we accept cash payment
During your stay we can offer farm products (milk from our cows, selfmade butter, or cheese) for additional charge.
We are sorry that we have no kitchen for guests.
Pets are allowed (fee 5.00 €/day)

As a Accomodation we have not an apartment for self-supporter with a kitchen but we have a mattress dormitory (for a maximum of 7 persons) and a room for 3 persons.
The dormitory is in the barn over the stable from the cows with a beautiful view of the mountains from the Sölktal. It is simply equipped (You have a washing facility at the creek or at the sink at the guest toilet).
You can smell this wonderful scentin the bedroom.In cause that you sleep in the barn over the cows you have a totally alps ambience with all its noises and smells and with a beautiful view of the mountains through the windows.
