On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, starting at 7:30 p.m., an excerpt from the diverse musical spectrum will be presented at the Ramsau Music Nights.

Hochwald

Hochwald is the rediscovery of popular music of past decades, a mildly psychedelic journey through the world of emotions. Music created by real people in real rooms on real instruments, with all the ups and downs that go with it.

The backgrounds and approaches to the music could not be more different and so independent songs are created, which are polished and honed until all the rough edges are gone, only to then maybe take out the sledgehammer and hit it hard.

There are echoes of the Beatles, Neil Young, Radiohead, disco, Krautrock, soul and indie pop. Wolfgang's lyrics are cryptic and playful and sometimes so mean that you have to laugh at them. They are accompanied by Florian's thunderstorms of sound on electric guitar, countered by Oskar's gentlemanly guitar. In between, Marietta's keys provide catchy melodies and cozy sound carpets. As the rhythm section, Richard on drums and Wolfgang on bass bring things sometimes stomping and groaning, sometimes sweet and light on their feet.
