The Protestant Church is located in the centre of Ramsau Ort and is often featured in the background of the television series. In the 7th season, the mountain rescue team celebrated a wedding full of surprises inside this church.
On September 8th 1888, the foundation of the church's foundation began. Thanks to the help of the Gustav Adolf Association along with the diligence and financial sacrifices of the village's 1300 inhabitants, made it finally possible to complete this beautiful church on August 15th 1895. It was planned by the Nuremberg architect Hans Kieser and it took approximately 7 years to complete the construction of the church with its 750 seats.
Ramsau's farmers are regarded as pioneers of the Lutheran faith in Austria and to this day, more than 70% of the inhabitants are Protestant.
