Church of St. Peter and Paul
Directly on the market place of Irdning is the predominantly gothic parish church, which is dedicated to St. Peter and Paul. Peter, the oldest patron saint of Salzburg, was the 1st patron of the church. In 1514 St. Paul was also mentioned for the first time in a document.
The central importance of these two patron saints is also reflected in the high altarpiece, a typical example of baroque sacral art. It depicts the kiss of peace of the two patrons who bid farewell to each other before their martyrdom in Rome.
