The Glattjoch is a pass of the Niederen Tauern at 1,989 m above sea level. The Glattjoch Chapel is thus the highest chapel in Styria. As a cantilever vault construction in dry masonry, this sacral building is the only known of its kind in Central Europe and has exactly the same proportions as the "boat-shaped oratories" in Ireland and the "bories" in France.
If you want to visit the Glattjoch Chapel, you have to go on a long hike. The walking time from Schranken Riedleralm in Donnersbachwald is 3.5 hours.
The Glattjoch mountain fair takes place annually in June.
