Winter walking in Schladming

In the valleys Schladming, Rohrmoos, Pichl and Vorberg there are many winter walks for your enjoyment – see some tips below:

Talbachklamm Gorge
The route between Schladming and Untertal village is a classic winter walking trail. The tour takes about 1.5 hours round-trip. There is also the possibility to take the bus to or from Untertal village. This also lends itself as an evening hike, since the path through the gorge is illuminated until midnight.

4-seasons trail at Hochwurzen

This walk starts at the parking lot at Hotel Winterer. From there you make your way up to Hochwurzen via Hüttecksattel mountain saddle on a groomed forest road. For the 700 meters in elevation and 6.5 kms in distance you need approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. For the way back down we recommend that you take a toboggan with you and enjoy the ride down on the 7 km long run from Hochwurzen.

The trail leads through a forest section and takes you to Almdorf Reiteralm and from there to the valley via Preuneggstraße road. There is also a new winter walk starting at the mountain terminal of Preunegg Jet cable car.
