The tour

A vertical venture attached to a steel cable, combined with gorgeous stunning views to the surrounding mountains. The constructor of this protected climbing path, Hans Prugger, has created a vertical masterpiece, that leads – after crossing a rope bridge – up as straight as a dart, from the gorge waterfall to the exit point. Since there are neither hiking passages nor ledges to take a break, a lot of arm work is involved, requiring upper body strength from the entry to the top. Combining the via ferrata routes Hias, Siega, and Rosina makes a perfect half-day programme, with a suggested easy-going rest in the Silberkar hut to let the day fade away.

Turn-by-turn directions

Approach: Pass by the entry point of the via ferrata Hias and keep hiking up the gorge to the next rope bridge. The Rosina-entry is right there along the path.

Descent: From the exit point, keep hiking upwards for about 15 minutes along a footpath until you reach the hiking trail. At that point turn right to the Silberkar gorge or to the via ferrata route Siega. Make your way back down to the Silberkar or to the car park.

Please note: Demanding via ferrata route (C/D and persistent!) The difficulty grade is the same as the via ferrata Hias, however, since there are no breaks possible, this protected climbing path has to be taken more seriously.

Getting there

Arriving from the west:
From the west you can take the Munich-Salzburg motorway, continuing on the Tauern motorway (A 10) until the Ennstal junction. From here take the Ennstal A-road (the B 320) for around 30 km into the Schladming-Dachstein region, then take the Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off.

Arriving from the north:
From the south-east take the Pyhrnautobahn motorway (A 9) to the Liezen junction and then the Ennstal A-road (B 320) into the Schladming-Dachstein region. Then take the Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off.
