The tour
Take path no. 677 from Sender, then cross three forest roads before firstly reaching the large gravel field. Keep left and follow path no. 677 to the peak (only for experienced mountain hikers). Here, you will have a lovely view of Upper Ennstal’s mighty mountains.

The path leads north of the peak down some secured steep steps, past Kammalm and continuing down until reaching the idyllic Miesbodensee (no. 28).

After arriving there, you can comfortably continue to Viehbergalm with serviced cabins (during the summer). The descent (no. 28) through Eckangerl and the “Wurf” (coll.) to the Rahnstube will take approx. 3/4 of an hour. Afterwards, follow the forest path south through the Öfen gorge until reaching your destination - the Kneipp facility.

Hut hosts are experienced mountain experts; they can provide good tips regarding the weather or route. Insufficient equipment, overestimating one’s capabilities, carelessness, poor physical fitness, and misjudgement can lead to critical situations. In case of thunderstorms: Avoid peaks, ridges and safety ropes at all costs.

In case of emergency please dial the following emergency number: no. 140 for Mountain rescue and no. 112 - the European emergency call number

Equipment
A balaclava, gloves, a good jacket and pair of pants are standard equipment for routes in Alpine terrain. Good water-resistant shoes, sunglasses, solar protection and sufficient drinks are essential. This also includes torches, mapping material, a knife, and a small first aid kit.
